After having a long break from IT-business, I feel very excited about the new challenges and the opportunities ahead.
Last winter, somebody in California asked me what was the most extreme sport I’ve done so far. I answered immediately that it’s doing business in the IT-industry. He laughed. And I don’t know if he actually got what I meant. What I was trying to say is that in all extreme sports, you get a temporary rush of adrenaline and the kick will eventually disappear within max one hour after the activity is done. If you deal with this, you’ll just enjoy the permanent rush 24/7 and for life. You become a junky!
Yes, I believe I’ve become a junky. Over the last year, while I was away from the industry and doing so many other things, I realized that I love my job and I love IT-industry. I already knew it but I’ve never thought that I would miss it so much after having such a fantastic break with so many fun activities (except for breaking a leg). Many people would probably sacrifice a lot to be able to have this “long vacation” but I’m telling you, I’ve seriously had some hard time to fight against my abstinence from creating something big!
I do enjoy being in this dynamic business that changes everyday. I love being in touch with so many creative and driven people around me. I love creating new things, helping our clients and working under extreme stress and pressure. I enjoy having a role with a lot of responsibility and working within a team that has a common goal and purpose in life.
And here we are. I’m back again!
On my new journey, I will absolutely not change my attitude towards life and risk takings. I’m the same person with the same values and visions. It’s just that, every step I take feels a lot firmer now, because I have so much more experience than what I started with at our fantastic company Varchar, the ultimate boot camp where I learned a lot. I’m not only talking about the business experience but also life experience in different areas which is at least as important as the business and management experience to be able to operate with a functioning common sense in our industry.
These are the feelings I’ve got when we are taking off. Here on this blog, I will do my best to keep everybody updated about my experiences and the challenges I’m going to face. I’ll also try to write about my thoughts about management in hi-tech companies, entrepreneurship and life.
Alright, let’s do it!
